All the things which were made in USSR had a good quality. But sometimes you could buy something with spoilage and it was rather prestigious not to wear the things made in USSR. It was prestigious to wear the things which were made in Europe, USA or somewhere else. But the most of illegal clothes were brought from abroad.
The things on illegal markets were rather expensive; the speculators sold them with big percent. The profiteers had been fined or arrested! Many gypsies at that times sold fashionable clothes which were homemade with a rather good quality.
Nowadays Ukrainian women can buy different fashionable and stylish clothes. The things to wear aren't very expensive.
But in soviet times it cost a lot of money to buy the clothes which an American or a European woman could afford.
